Project overview
In the wide-open farmland of northern Iowa, the two phases of the Pioneer Prairie Wind Farm turn wind into a “second crop” of clean electricity. The wind farm is located in Iowa along the Minnesota state line in Howard and Mitchell counties, stretching from Stacyville in Mitchell County into Oakdale Township in Howard County.
Pioneer Prairie Wind Farm yields significantly in the form of payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment. Pioneer Prairie Wind Farm is also compatible with other land uses and provides a stable form of income to local landowners.
